Our purpose

(re)boot is an upcycling system for sports clubs, connecting the world of sports, fashion, and circular design. We recover discarded and dead-stock sports apparel and gear directly from the club’s equipment room, and tap into our global network of designers to create bespoke, one-of-one pieces. (re)boot seeks to promote a circular economy in the sports industry.

We believe that clubs are the agents of change, with sports as the most powerful platform to set sustainability as a standard in the industry. Together we will move sports away from the take-make-waste model.

  • Our process begins through deconstructing the initial damaged garment, intricately removing the badge panel and recognising a complimentary colour-way. The top is then built out from the badge, in an almost mathematical, puzzle formation.

  • Every top takes a completely unique form, each being made from 30+ panels, taken from an array of used sports material. Our priority lying with ensuring as much of the initial shirt is utilised as possible.

Our first collection

(re)boot X Inter Miami CF

(re)boot and Inter Miami CF launched the first upcycled collection in the world of fútbol. The partnership created 50 bespoke garments that were sold online and in the Inter Miami CF stores within one day.

(RE)BOOT partnered with ROW_____Z for their first retail collection due to their specialty in reworking old, damaged product into new, bespoke garments that speak to both football and fashion fans alike. Together, we reinvigorated the obsolete, creating expressive sportswear through creative and innovative pattern-cutting.

ROW_____Z is a brand and creative studio bringing football threads into the everyday wardrobe. ROW_____Z is based in London and founded by Menswear Designer, Tom Ellis and Graphic Designer/Art Director, Daegan Eppey.

Fans can scan the digital (re)boot label on the garment to view the unique story behind the product they bought, including the sourcing of the pieces from their favorite club’s equipment room, the jersey’s composition and material, and background information about (re)boot.

To bring this to life, (re)boot has partnered with Avery Dennison, a global materials science and digital identification solutions company, in order to elevate the technological features included in the jerseys and provide an even more powerful garment to fans.

“Reducing professional sports textile waste is (re)boot’s excellent game plan. By producing jerseys that have been repurposed from club discarded apparel, and then digitizing them with Avery Dennison’s Digital ID technology, powered by atma.io connected product cloud. This will transform these individual garments into unique data points, and provide the jersey owners with access to storytelling that will educate, add interest, and promote recycling,” said Mike Colarossi, vice president, innovation, product line management and sustainability, Apparel Solutions, Avery Dennison.
